When I’m teaching, I know I’m standing right where I should be. Yoga came into my life when I was 17 and in a bad relationship. I realized I had to work on myself and started waking up earlier in the mornings to practice Yoga.
2009, I landed a receptionist role at Yogaviva. Within a month, I was also taking care of the studio, covered a number of classes, did Thai Massage and event days. It was a versatile job with long hours and it showed me that my passions was in teaching. I increased my personal practice with Chris Chavez, Brihony & Dice, Duncan Wong, David Sye and Jaqui Wan. I have also attended the Dutch Acrobatics Festival twice.
2011, I completed my 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training qualification at Teach Yoga, with Elena Voyce.
2011 – 2014, I opened Namas Yoga in Chelmsford, Essex and started teaching group classes and personal lessons. I taught classes at gyms and events such as: Mind Body Spirit show, Fling Festival, Virgin Active, LA Fitness, Yoga-Vibe studio, Hummingbird studio, Chelmsford Happiness project and Kids Inspire.
2015, I opened Namas Yoga Workshops and delighted that every year they are fully booked.
2016, I started teaching at Unique Results Chelmsford and later in the year, I completed a CPD in Postnatal Yoga at Yoga Mama in Putney, London.
2017, I was approached by Adidas, London. I teach Yoga sessions at Adidas Women’s Studio and at the Adidas store, both in London. In April, moved from Chelmsford to Solihull, West Midlands where Namas Yoga will be newly based.
The past 6 years, I’ve been teaching Yoga to a variety of people; from sports players, marathon runners, Martial Artists, CrossFitters, physiotherapists, office-workers and moms. I have worked with people with conditions such as scoliosis, cancer patients, mental health, hyer-mobility and trauma. The past 5 years I’ve been working with clients to rehabilitate or prevent activity-based injuries, and work in conjunction with their Physiotherapists advice. I enjoy teaching dynamic Yoga classes to restorative Yoga, the tempo and content always changes depending on who I’m working with.
In 2014, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. I taught and practiced Yoga all the way through my pregnancy. She’s so strong, I knew she would be when I was carrying her. My partner, Stephen, is my rock when it comes to everything that I do. Without him, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to start Namas Yoga.
